Scott brings to the table 4 decades of invaluable experience in the maritime industry. He sailed a total of 24 years spent at sea, culminating with 6 years as Master. He has also lived and worked internationally including 4 years in London for BP Shipping as the Operations Manager for Europe and Africa. Scott’s professional journey also includes roles as an International New-buildings Manager, Engineering Manager, and Fleet Manager for Australian based companies. His diverse background equips him with a comprehensive understanding of both operational and managerial aspects within the maritime sector.

He is an accredited SIRE inspector for Oil, Chemical, and Gas tankers, an accredited AMSA DCV surveyor and as such, Scott ensures compliance with stringent industry standards, prioritising safety and efficiency at every turn. Additionally, his accreditation as an independent AIMS marine surveyor underlines his commitment to quality assurance and meticulous attention to detail.

In addition to the technical side, Scott is also the DPA and CSO, looking after the company’s ISM system and managed vessels with a Safety, Security and MLC overview, as well as being involved with day to day operations.

24+ years seagoing experience, with the last 6 years sailing as Master on Oil, Gas and Chemical tankers, both with Australian domestic crews and international crews.
4 years in London working for BP Shipping in a senior role in the voyage operations team.
5 years with Toll Marine as Fleet Manager and also as Engineering Manager, operating a small fleet of complex vessels and cargo operations for domestic and Tier 1 clients.
In the latter stages with Toll Marine, Scott also had a management role of a team of Stevedores and 7x terminals. Scott’s last 2 years with Toll was based in Perth with Toll Energy and Marine (after a company internal merger) which was focussed heavily on the Oil and Gas sector, with a lot of exposure to DP vessels and offshore operations.
Shipbuilding and ship repair experience in many countries including China, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
In addition to the above, Scott is an internationally qualified Ship Inspector and Marine Surveyor (accredited with AMSA in Australia) for Australian flagged domestic vessels.
Scott has also owned and operated his own independent marine consultancy business for the past 15 years for projects independent of the SOS umbrella.
